Nepal Communist Party (Maoist Centre) Secretary Giriraj Mani Pokharel was born on Falgun 24, 2015 BS (March 7, 1959 AD) in Kharpa, Khotang district. He was born as the second son of his father, Chandramani Pokharel, and mother, Kanak Kumari Pokharel. Pokharel completed his primary education at Sharda Primary School in Kharpa.
